Gastronomic specialties of the region
- Chestnuts : Collobrières (47 mn from le Val), la Garde-Freinet (48 mn from le Val), les Mayons
(34 mn from le Val), Pignans (25 mn from le Val), Gonfaron (25 mn from le Val). Chestnut festival in these 5 villages between October and November.
- The fig: Solliès-Pont. Festival on the last week-end of August.
- The olive and its oil : national olive oil competition at the farm and craft fair of Brignoles in April.
- Provence honeys: honey of lavender, heather, chestnut tree, arbutus tree, rosemary, thyme, mountain and of all Provence fowers. Honey by-products such as Provence black nougat, gingerbread and honey drops.
- The truffle: truffle fair at Aups (30 mn from Le Val) on the last Sunday of January.
As well as the truffle markets every Thursday from the 25th of November to the 10th of march.
- The wines: Bandol, Côtes de Provence, Coteaux Varois and french country wines.
- The sausage fair of Le Val on the 1st week-end of September.
